"Rama is being held back by money laundering"/ Media: Government, like

Republican Party leader and MP Fatmir Mediu today accused the government of acting like a witch hunt against the opposition.

Invited to "Syri TV", Mediu stated that a decisive factor for Prime Minister Edi Rama's retention of power in Albania, and at the same time having a profound impact on the Albanian economy, is money laundering.

"The group of parties that are part of it are a major political force in the entire political sphere, that is, not only European but also global, especially the American one. And if I were to list them one by one, the issues are extremely important, starting from, let's say, the unification of the state with the party in power and culminating in the manipulation of the electoral process, to then continue with the use of justice for political purposes and at the same time with the persecution of opposition leaders before the start of the electoral process, with the clear aim of diverting public opinion from, that is, the problems of the government and to throw it towards a witch hunt against the opposition, to then continue further with problems that are extremely serious in terms of the fight against organized crime and corruption, in particular drug cartels, which violate not only the security of Albania and the Balkan region, but much more than that.

And they have become a place, a decisive factor for Edi Rama's retention of power in Albania, and at the same time it has a profound impact on the Albanian economy through money laundering, which is now an extremely visible fact in all investments made in Albania. But in addition to this, this resolution has also offered, namely, the possibilities for solutions. And simply as far as the issue of elections is concerned, it is not only electoral reform, where the opposition must be very focused on what it demands and how it demands it in cooperation with all other opposition parties, and I emphasize this, with all other opposition parties, and to then see what the rule is to separate the government from the party in power. And I do not think that Albanians can be at a lower standard than Macedonia, and the 'care-taker' government should be a process that should be negotiated and not just declared by the opposition.

Kjo rezolutë, për më tepër ka ardhur pas një seance dëgjimore që u bë në Kongres, në komisionin për çështjet europiane, drejtuar nga kongresmeni Keith Self, i cili në fjalën e tij theksoi se mbas 10 vjetësh, 10 vjet reformë në drejtësi, problemet duket që janë jashtëzakonisht të rënda përsa i përket sigurisë juridike dhe interesave të qytetarëve shqiptarë. Nga 16,000 çështje të cilat kanë qenë përpara se të fillonte kjo reformë, janë tashmë mbi 200,000 çështje dhe koha për të marrë vendim është 8 deri në 15 vjet, në një kohë që ka qenë deri në 3 vjet. Pra situata është agravuar. Pra edhe pastaj me dëshmitë që bëri zoti Edëard Joseph, foli për tendencat për shkatërrimin e pluralizmit në Shqipëri, të cilën domethënë e kishim një fakt në Shqipëri, dhe më tej pastaj edhe për problemet e persekutimit politik të opozitës. Në takimin e IDU-së, unë e vura theksin qartë, sepse një nga debatet që kemi bërë në IDU, në forumin që zhvillohet çdo vit në Ëashington, ka qenë tendencat në rritje të autoritarizmit politik. Dhe unë e theksova që Shqipëria është tërësisht në autoritarizëm politik.

Në pamundësi për të zhvilluar ekonominë, në një vend ku largohen çdo ditë e më tepër shqiptarët, dhe bëra dhe një krahasim me atë që, domethënë, disa kolegë të fortë të Frateli d'Italia-s që ishin prezent, Caludio Fidanxa, europarlamentar, tha që nuk vijnë më refugjatë ose emigrantë të paligjshëm nga Afrika në Itali se kanë frikë se përfundojnë në Shqipëri. Pyetja është pse kanë frikë? Kanë frikë se në Shqipëri nuk ka standardet që ata kërkojnë, qoftë edhe për atë standard që ata kanë në Afrikë. Pra ky është një problem jashtëzakonisht i madh. Pra Shqipëria përdoret si një vend, domethënë për t'i ngjallur frikën të tjerëve dhe jo si një vend shprese dhe besimi. Prandaj kanë ikur edhe mbi 1.3 milion shqiptarë që nga viti 2013 kur Rama ka ardhur në pushtet. Pra janë një seri gjërash dhe faktorësh të cilët duhen analizuar.

"Everyone, that is, is united in this wave of concern regarding the situation in Albania, and the use of, that is, the relations between the two countries in a way to lead Albania, that is, to a, almost, position of opposition destruction and that is, of the increase of the, that is, authoritarian tendency of a completely left-wing government, which has nothing in common with the interests of Albanians," Mediu said. /CNA
