Political scientist Hasimja: The DP needs self-analysis, it cannot overthrow

Political scientist Ermal Hasimja commented today on the situation in which the Democratic Party finds itself, following several developments in recent days.

Invited to A2 CNN, Hasimja said that these events have prompted the need for self-analysis by the DP, which according to him they need even more.

According to the political scientist, the DP cannot overthrow Prime Minister Edi Rama simply by showing Albanians that his government is corrupt.

"There was dissatisfaction with the opposition's action, which perhaps some think should have been much more vocal, more energetic, and I think that in this respect, if you look at what has happened in the past 2-3 days, it shows that the effect is positive. First, the Democratic Party immediately moved to perhaps prevent any interpretation or misinterpretation of what is happening, engaging in a process of analysis, and this happened immediately after this Salijanj meeting, while it could have been done much earlier. And on the other hand, I think that in a way it has also put the Democratic Party in a more urgent process, more motivated by self-analysis, but also self-reflection in relation to the role it should play at this time and in that process of creating a higher credibility in relation to public opinion, because to overthrow Rama, you cannot overthrow him simply by showing Albanians that the Rama government is corrupt," Hasimja said. /CNA
