"Establishment of the National Tumor Institute"/ Minister Sala meets

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Evis Sala, held a meeting with the president of the Alliance Against Cancer, Ruggero De Maria.

The meeting was announced by the minister herself in a post on X, where she announced that the focus of the meeting was Albania's effort to further improve the treatment and care of tumor diseases.

Further, the minister announced that the creation of a national oncology network is planned as well as the establishment of a national tumor institute.

 

“ Excellent meeting with the President of the Alliance Against Cancer in Italy, Prof. Ruggero De Maria. Our discussion focused on Albania’s ongoing efforts to further improve the prevention, treatment and care of tumor diseases, including:

The establishment of the National Oncology Network;

The establishment of the National Tumor Institute;

 Standardization of treatment protocols;

Expanding access to innovative clinical treatments.
