Minister Koçiu returns to Farka: 581 buildings inspected, 4,500 m²

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Albana Koçiu, returned today to the Farka area, where an operation to verify construction permits and security standards on the ground has been underway for three weeks.

The Minister stated that this is a structured and long-term process, which aims to provide a clearer picture of the construction situation.

"I want to emphasize strongly, this operation is not intended to punish the construction industry, it is intended to raise standards, protect citizens, ensure that those who enforce the law are not unfairly competed with by those who violate it. All those who build according to the permit, with regular documentation and standards are our allies in this process. This process will not last three weeks, not even until the end of the season. It will continue until order, standards and responsibility are the only norm in the territory," said Koçiu.

From the inspection so far in 581 buildings, around 4,500 m² of unauthorized additions have been found, where half of the surface area was immediately demolished by the builders themselves, while the rest is being assessed for the confiscation procedure in the public interest, while fines amounting to 2.5 million euros have been imposed./CNA
