German Foreign Minister Wadephul: Rule of law and fight against crime, important

The Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Johann Wadephul, emphasized today the support of the German state to Albania in the European integration process.

At a press conference during his visit to Tirana, Wadephul said that the two aspects requiring more focus are the rule of law and the fight against crime, which he described as important objectives not only for Albania, but also for the Western Balkan countries.

"The German Federal Government is committed to the integration process. I consider the Berlin Process to be a commitment. But ultimately it is the duty of the candidate countries to create the premises and conditions for integration. Work is being done to increase these premises. Germany has always been a friendly country towards Albania. We have a different situation in other countries in the region. In the end, it will be seen whether everything that should have been done has been done. The rule of law and the fight against crime are two aspects that require concentration. If these objectives are to be achieved, each country in the Western Balkans will have a report on the implementation of the decisions taken. The work must be done by the candidate countries", said Wadephul. /CNA
