"There is no other way but protests"/ Këlliçi: Albanians

Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi, invited to Syri TV, spoke about the protest that will take place today at 18:00 in front of the Prime Minister's Office. Këlliçi said that this protest will be the first that will open the door to permanent protests. Këlliçi said that the expulsion of the opposition leader had not happened in 385 years of democracy. The MP said that Rama is taking all the opposition's space and so, as he has started, he will also take the head of the European Delegation.

" It will be a protest that will open the door to permanent protests that will be held in front of the Council of Ministers, where the head of the structured criminal group, who is currently the head of state, Edi Rama, is standing. And without a doubt, it will be a public forum where the deputies of the Democratic Party will speak, due to the impossibility of what is happening in Parliament to discuss and debate, and where various citizens will speak about their problems. And don't forget here, it is very important: we have two months of parliament, we have spent two months, and a session that is mandatory every month to talk about the problems of citizens has not yet been held, which is the first session after the green week. I am introducing you to the technicalities of the Parliament calendar, where only the problems of citizens are discussed. And it has not yet been held.

"At the pace at which the current prime minister is moving with the occupation of all opposition spaces and institutions, it would not be bad for him to also take over the office of the EU Delegation in Tirana. It is useless for international officials to come as long as the statements are copy-pasted from the prime minister. Because it is ridiculous to set a precedent: to expel the leader of the opposition, this has not happened in 34-35 years of pluralism for a statement made outside the premises of the Parliament, completely correctly, quoting the ambassador verbatim, without insulting anyone. To expel the leader of the opposition for this act means that you and I, Arnold, who are in this interview today, could be expelled tomorrow if the Ethics Commission convenes because they did not like something we said in the studio ," said the Democrat MP.

Këlliçi said that Albanians should react and not expect solutions from internationals for the 1.1 million euros stolen over 10 years.

"This protest, this platform is the starting point. Let's be clear: this issue will be resolved by Albanians. If Albanians do not understand that they must react themselves to the flagrant thefts that are taking place, they should not expect it to be resolved by some international who comes, spends a day or two, enjoys the beautiful weather, the excellent food, and is bombarded with Edi Rama's propaganda about a reality that does not exist, except in his mind. And then they flee to their countries, while here remains a country without hospitals, without medicine, with an insufficient minimum standard of living. Today, the head of the DP parliamentary group rightly asked Taulant Balla: "Does the minimum standard of living with 40 thousand new lek per month work for you? If it doesn't work for you, why should it work for another citizen?"

This is why Albanians are fleeing: 1.1 million in 10 years. For all these reasons, the Democratic Party has called today the first protest, the starting point of the protests. And I must make it clear to the citizens, the democrats, the opposition and those who are not with the DP: there is no other way except protests and civic reaction, he declared./ CNA
