Opening the last chapter/ Rama: We are achieving what was once impossible

Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered his speech at the joint conference with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and Marie Bjerre, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, which holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Rama said that today Albania is achieving something that a short time ago seemed like a dream and something impossible. He thanked Commissioner Kos for the support she has given to Albania and the entire Western Balkans in the integration process.

"Who would have thought that we would be here today opening all the group chapters. A while ago it seemed impossible and we were at the point where we were getting used to the setbacks. The whole journey made us more aware of the extraordinary nature of this process and made us more mature. Here we are today with what was once a dream. Without formal words or protocol, I want to thank two extraordinary people on my left, Marina and Marta.  Marta who is a champion of the accession process of Albania and the entire Western Balkans. I am inspired by all these months and by the strong support that the process of enlargement or reunification of Europe is receiving. We will do everything to move forward with the same intensity to deliver results. Today, Albania emerges from this first phase with pride and an even greater sense of responsibility. We represent here an entire nation that supports the European Union like no other, around 90%. I am sure that very few of them are in that "A small percentage, they will not have had a good day when the survey was conducted.
