All the details/ The final group chapter of negotiations with the EU opens

The final group chapter of negotiations will open on Monday, November 17. The 7th Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference is scheduled to be held tomorrow in Brussels.

This moment marks the opening of all chapters of the country's integration negotiations.

As reported, Prime Minister Edi Rama will be present at the Great Conference tomorrow.

The conference will start at 8:00 and will be followed by a press conference at around 9:20.

After the completion of the works, Prime Minister Rama, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos and Danish Foreign Minister Marie Bjerre will hold a joint press conference.

-Chapter Group V includes five essential chapters for the economic and social development of the country, with the most direct impact on production, competitiveness and balanced development of the territory:

“Agriculture and Rural Development” (chapter 11);

“Food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policies”, (chapter 12);

“Fishing” (chapter 13);

“Regional policy and coordination of structural instruments” (chapter 22), as well as

“Financial and Budgetary Provisions (chapter 33).

Through this Chapter Group, Albania benefits from the modernization of agriculture, the increase of production capacities and the digitalization of the food chain. A special place is occupied by the strengthening of food safety control mechanisms and the approximation with EU standards, while the fisheries and aquaculture sector aims to benefit from European rules and programs for sustainable management.

In the cohesion component, Albania addresses increasing capacities for managing EU funds and preparing for effective participation in regional development policies.

Meanwhile, the chapter on financial and budgetary provisions includes compliance with European practices for transparency, budgetary planning and administration of public funds. /CNA
