Prime Minister Edi Rama gave some explanations today regarding his metaphors towards the opposition. In an interview with A2CNN, Rama stated that when he says 'swamp' he is not being bully, as according to him this is related to a concrete reality.

Rama said that the opposition has remained at the mercy of a hopeless individual who has taken him hostage.

Rama said that Berisha was given this status by many people who accepted everything from him.

Rama said that few of the winners from the primaries remained in the race, adding that it is not known where those contestants are from a political point of view.

"The swamp is not bullying. It is a metaphor for a very concrete and very tangible reality. Our opposition is a swamp, it is stagnant water. It is at the mercy of a hopeless individual who has taken the entire opposition hostage, while he can barely connect his own sentences, because age has also taken its toll. So it is a swamp.

This individual, who has actually taken on a status, a status that you all have given him, by accepting all the kinds of tar and paint that he spits out every day for anyone outside the perimeter of the swamp, for me personifies the swamp owl exactly. The bird that lives in the swamp, that feeds on the creatures inside.

Because this individual feeds on the creatures inside. That is why that party, born as a party of hope, cannot escape the clutches of this owl and remains a swamp where all those who are a little different are either swallowed by the owl, drowning in the waters of the swamp.

"The primaries were the most spectacular example of what I'm saying, how the winners of the primaries were swallowed by the owl and disappeared from the lists. If it were a competition, the winners would not end up in the owl's belly and would not be wanted persons, in the sense that it is not known where they are, from a political point of view," Rama said./CNA
