Prime Minister Edi Rama held a closing electoral meeting in Saranda today. At the beginning of his speech, Rama focused on the problem of water shortage in this city.

Rama stated that investments have been made in water, but the current situation requires reinvestment.

Rama said that investments in this aspect will not only improve the livelihoods of the residents of the area, but will also affect tourism.

Rama added that this necessity increases even more during the peak tourist season. 

"Every time I've come here, I've found not only new construction sites, but also dedicated people. And an increasingly energetic city. There are many things that have changed in Saranda. I gave you my word that when you vote, we will support Saranda more."

What's special is that an investment has been made in water here. Much more investment has been made on the other side.

We have no other option but to reinvest in this area because what we see are new projects from investors and architects that will increase the quality of Saranda and the number of tourists. This means more economy, income, but also responsibility because there will be more need for drinking water and at the peak of the season at all hours.

"I don't want to talk about the projects because you see them and we will have another time to talk about Saranda's projects," Rama said. /CNA
