Prime Minister Edi Rama commented today on the selection of candidate names on the lists for the May 11 parliamentary elections. In an interview with A2CNN, Rama also spoke about candidates in the race who have problems with justice.

Asked about the inclusion of several mayors on the lists, Rama said that they are now bringing the success of the capacity from the community where they were elected. 

"They will bring added value with their capacity as representatives of the community where they have succeeded," said Rama.

Asked about people who have problems with SPAK, like Plarent Ndreca, while names with contributions are missing, Rama said that the lists are drawn up with criteria that are not related to what is seen from the outside, but to internal aspects of the party, work and contribution.

"He is not a defendant nor convicted. When we compile the lists, we have a certain list of criteria that are not simply related to what you can see from the outside, but to many other aspects that have to do with the team, dedication, etc. The fact that they are not part of it does not mean that they are worth less," said Rama. /CNA
