German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, in a joint press conference with Spiropali, emphasized that the Prosecution and Courts must work freely without any influence.

Wadephul expressed his appreciation and support for SPAK, emphasizing that it had been successful with the vetting process.

The Minister emphasized that if it continues on the same path as now, Albania will achieve the desired success.

"We must work to achieve a situation of a living separation of powers. The justice system must be free from any kind of influence. The prosecution and the court must do their job freely and this was the essence of the conversation with the Special Prosecution Office where I expressed my appreciation. Support must continue consistently. There has been success with the vetting process. I come from a country that has not only reached a mature democracy after being liberated from a terrible regime to the point where it has reached the creation of a legal state. The EU has clear criteria, the European Commission is the guardian of pacts and agreements and will have its own assessment. A lot of work needs to be done in the future. If we continue on the same path as now, we will reach the desired success," said Wadephul./ CNA
