Iran, a terrorist state/ Balla: This is not a resolution against a people

The Albanian Parliament is preparing to adopt a resolution declaring the Islamic Republic of Iran a state that sponsors terrorism and uses terrorist means in foreign policy, an initiative proposed by the socialist majority.

The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has harshly commented on the boycott of the session by the opposition, emphasizing that this resolution is not directed against the Iranian people, but against terrorist practices related to Iranian state structures and organizations affiliated with it. He stated that the resolution is necessary, urgent and shows that Albania does not tolerate terrorism.

Balla argued that the parliament's stance supports strategic partners such as the United States and other allies in the fight against the sponsorship of terrorism. He stressed that not participating in the vote shows a lack of desire to support the country's security interests.

"This resolution is not a resolution against a people, it is a stance against central practices that are used politically. This is a clear message that Albania does not allow terrorism."

"I don't know that in a solemn moment alongside the US and EU countries, they don't come to the parliament today to support this position that is necessary, urgent and necessary," said Balla./ CNA
