$15,000 guarantee for visas/ Albania not affected by DASH project

The United States of America will begin implementing a pilot project on August 20th, under which individuals seeking to obtain a visa will be required to provide a guarantee of up to 15,000 euros.

The project will initially launch for citizens from Malawi and Zambia.

Albania is not on the list of countries whose citizens must pay a guarantee of up to $15,000.

Sources from the Foreign Ministry said that there is no announcement about the US pilot program at this time. Once the program comes into effect, all countries that will be part of the list will be notified.

Tourist and business visa applicants are subject to the US pilot project. The project includes 3 levels of guarantees, 5, 10 and 15 thousand dollars.

The amount of the security deposit to be paid will be determined based on the risk criteria presented by the visa violation. One of the criteria is travel history./ CNA
