Irena Gjoka's decriminalization file is being reviewed by the General Prosecutor's Office, but Berisha accuses SPAK

2025-08-04 17:17:00, Politikë CNA

Irena Gjoka's decriminalization file is being reviewed by the General

Berisha today did not forget to mention again what he calls "Irena with 3 surnames".

The way the list of surnames that Berisha attributes to the Judge of the Special Court is filled out, in fact, includes the Judge's maiden name (Maneku), her surname after marriage (Gjoka), and a surname that the lady herself cited in the decriminalization form when she explained that the family once bore the surname "Shpata".

In this list, the Judge can only be held responsible for changing the surname from maiden to married. She has made the decision for this change herself.

With the way Berisha fills out what he calls the Judge's list of surnames, then every married woman would have to be referred to as "the lady with two surnames." And put that way, it would seem as if every married woman has something to hide.

However, with 2 or 3 surnames and all the claims that Berisha has against the Judge's past, SPAK is not taken into account.

The office that reviews cases of data-related problems and the collection and evaluation of documents related to the decriminalization law is located in the General Prosecutor's Office.
And the general prosecutor's name is Olsian Çela.

The Prosecutor General, with the new reform package, has no investigative powers over any case other than practices related to the decriminalization law.
With generosity, to slightly increase the volume of work for Mr. Çela, we could also add to this list cases of disciplinary investigation among the magistrates of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Since the day the file with the relevant documentation was completed at the General Prosecutor's Office, there has been neither a decision-making process on the "Irena Gjoka" case, nor any disciplinary proceedings for the magistrates who have the file in their drawer.
For this analysis, it is irrelevant whether or not the Magistrate falsified the data on the decriminalization form.

This answer is not up to the media to find among Berisha's accusations or through Olsian Çela's silence.

Unlike the Attorney General's sudden leap when he quickly said he was unaware of the draft Criminal Code, this silence seems like collaboration with the magistrate officials of the Attorney General's Office who for some reason do not issue a decision on the periodically accused Judge.
Or is it known?
Olsian Çela certainly knows!

As he was aware of all the meetings for discussions on the Criminal Code, where the representative of the General Prosecutor's Office not only participated but also submitted comments.
And no one believes that Kujtim Luli submitted to the Ministry of Justice what he wanted, without forwarding the material for consultation within the General Prosecutor's Office.

Therefore, the Attorney General should from now on think before uttering sentences that flow from him as if with laziness and the self-confidence of a man superior to his interlocutors.

Why doesn't the Prosecutor General provide clarification to Sali Berisha on what stage the review of the decriminalization file of Magistrate Irena Gjoka (Maneku) is at?
Is the decision-making being delayed so that this debate about "Irena with 13 surnames" can be kept in the market as long as possible?
