DP after September/ Këlliçi: We will discuss the restructuring issue

The elected DP MP for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, shared his views today regarding the situation of the Democratic Party.

Këlliçi joined the opposition after September, when the new legislature began after the May 11 elections.

Invited to a television interview, Këlliçi stated that the real restructuring will not take place on television, but in the DP forums.

"We await the opposition's positions in its forums in relation to the parliament. If it decides to be active, the first moment such a draft is presented, there will be great opposition from the opposition. Civil society should also speak out, since it is censored. I am glad that it has happened. I do not know if there will be a strong reaction from civil society. It should have been a vanguard against such proposals. Even civil society in this country is caught. Every reaction is expected from the opposition, and then the opposition is blamed for everything that happens in parliament.

We do not have a calendar. It is not decided by me or anyone else. Based on the situation with the assembly after receiving the OSCE report on the elections, and on the stance that will be taken or not by the State Department. We are the only country in the world after January 20 that has not received an official comment from the State Department. In Albania, there are contested elections and they have not been free. Every citizen must understand that the priority is the elections in Albania. Political change has also become impossible.

"Is there a need to restructure? These are indisputable issues that will be on the debate table. It is very good that in the DP there is a different opinion, a different idea, a different platform. They are not made on television, but in the DP forums. Anyone who has an idea or opinion without question is invited to give their lecture in the Presidency, or the Council or the Assembly.
