Works on the Dukagjini/Balla Road: The second part of the Kir-Ndërlysaj

Minister of State, Taulant Balla, today shared details of the ongoing works on the Dukagjin Road, as the Prekal-Lotaj-Ndërlysaj axis is otherwise known.

Through a post on social media, Balla has published footage from the works for this segment, while emphasizing that currently lot 1, Prekal-Kir of 17 km, has been closed, and the second lot Kir-Ndërlysaj has begun.

Balla says that this road has a great impact on the area and that it will also serve the development of tourism and the rural economy.

"The Dukagjin Road or the Prekal-Lotaj-Ndërlysaj axis, is one of the most important segments of the north of the country, connecting Shkodra with Lekbibaj in Tropoja and further to Bajram Curri, the Valbona Valley and Gjakova in Kosovo. The road is still under construction, where currently lot 1, Prekal-Kir of 17 km, has been closed, and the second lot Kir-Ndërlysaj has begun. This investment has a great impact not only for the residents of the surrounding villages, Kir, Prekal, Shosh, Shalë, Bradhosh, Xhan, which it connects with Shkodra, but also enables the interconnection of the entire Alpine road network in function of the development of tourism and the rural economy", Balla writes. /CNA
