The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, arrested on 13 charges for several serious criminal offenses, came out with a reaction on social media, a few days after SPAK communicated the charges to him.

Veliaj claims that he is honest, that a 21-year vetting process has been carried out against him, and that he is being unfairly accused, now that the charges have been communicated to him.

The mayor told us that no violations were found against him, although court decisions have left him in prison after investigations of the facts and voluminous evidence presented in the file.

After this reaction, there was another revolt from citizens on social media, who once again showed him that he deserves the place he is in isolation for the actions and thefts he has committed.

"You and many others have a lot to clean up. You are not being punished for the incinerator that you are aware of having stolen, you are not being punished for Ardit Gjoklaj who was killed and thrown into the trash as if he were a bird and not a human soul," says one of the dozens of comments on Veliaj's reaction.

"Oh, you fool, you forgot Ardit Gjoklaj! You forgot the incinerator that doesn't exist and is killing us every day with bad diseases. You forgot the tears of May 5, the New Ring Road, etc., etc., etc., that the houses collapsed and are still in tents! You forgot the money you received for the 4 buildings in the Yzberisht district, 400 thousand euros, the builders, you sent the driver with a money counting machine. Imagine the havoc you have caused with the tower permits! And all for a sick ego so that your daughter-in-law can live among luxury and the trash women that you built in the Municipality of Tirana for 9 years. For me, you rot inside, not only you, but every thief who has ruined our children and brothers in the Diaspora and lives in luxury without working a day! March all of you with me! It's disgusting to me that you have turned into monsters. You would have a better life "It would be wonderful if you could live with the sincerity of the fig seller, the suffering of a boy who grew up without a father, and of a man who didn't finish two grades of school, but reached the top. Shkodra says to grow up", writes another commentator.  

In other comments, citizens address Veliaj, telling him that he has taken revenge on all those poor people whose homes he destroyed.

Citizens' anger continues, accusing him of concreted Tirana, destroying it, and making billions with the percentages he has received and continues to receive from permits.

"How can you not be ashamed, you've become so thin that every time you open your mouth, only lies come out. Do you love Tirana? You destroyed Tirana, concreted it, made a billion with the percentages you took and you keep taking. But you can't believe a word of it, since when you got married with your mom's savings, I revoked your visa because you slandered me so much!!", the comment says.

Between the lines, we can also read citizens telling him to stop attacking prosecutors and the judiciary.

With dozens of such comments full of accusations, citizens have mocked the reaction of the mayor, who is in Durrës prison.
