The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a speech held outside the SPAK premises, continued to defend Erion Veliaj.

The chief democrat stated that they and Veliaj behaved in an unacceptable manner.

Berisha has also leveled accusations against the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, who he said visited Veliaj in the cell together with a businessman.

According to Berisha, the businessman was from the Troplini clan, who went to the cell to threaten Veliaj. Berisha further stated that he will condemn this issue everywhere.

"For Veliaj, the witnesses are said to have testified that after going to Rama's office, they have proven the truth of the terrible thefts they have committed. However, every unconvicted and convicted person has a set of rights, which must be respected. They have behaved in an unacceptable manner with Erion Veliaj. I do not know of any human wickedness like Veliaj, but his rights are not determined by my will. They have mistreated him. On a visit, Ulsi Manja was accompanied by a businessman, a representative of the Troplini clan. They are taking him to give him an ultimatum, if they speak, the family will suffer.
