DP MP, Dhurata Çupi, in a statement from the blue seat, said that in the latest scanner of the US State Department, Edi Rama's government turns out, not for the first time, to be among the most corrupt.
According to her, there is a way to end capillary corruption, which starts from the top of the government, and that is free elections, unaffected by government corruption and its main partner, organized crime.
She emphasized that a technical government that prepares free elections is the highest interest of Albanians.
Full statement:
In the latest scanner of the US State Department, Edi Rama's government turns out, not for the first time, to be among the most corrupt. Business in Albania, the report states, operates in a dangerous environment due to corruption.
Government propaganda cannot hide the huge problem of lack of fair competition due to corrupt predetermined tenders.
As the report points out, foreign investors perceive Albania as a difficult place to do business. Corruption in the public sector, in justice, in public procurement, unfair competition, widespread informality in the economy, are among the key problems.
With Edi Rama as prime minister, everything is placed at the disposal of personal power, from the state caught at every link, to organized crime, which remains the main ally of the government these 12 years.
The State Department report notes that the factors that most harm competition in the market are drug trafficking, smuggling, tax evasion and corruption. 'Reports of corruption in government procurement are common. Investors often report cases of government corruption, which delays and prevents investments in Albania', the report says. It is also emphasized that PPPs are one of the most used ways of the government for corrupt contracts, which have reduced the opportunities for competition in the market.
The American report does not leave out the wound of depopulation either: 'Emigration of young and skilled labor has created a labor shortage that affects investment prospects.'
For the first time such a concern is raised so openly. The emigration of young people and professionals is based on government corruption. It is a silent revolt to reject this rotten system, where only those who serve power illegally and dishonestly get ahead.
There is a way to end capillary corruption, which starts at the top of government. They are free elections, unaffected by government corruption and its main partner, organized crime.
A technical government, which prepares free elections, is the highest interest of Albanians.
Albanians deserve a non-corrupt government that respects the rules of the market economy, that punishes crime and opens the door to the return to Albania of thousands of young people and thousands of professionals left by the alliance between organized crime and the narco-government.
