On Wednesday, the meeting of the dialogue group for Electoral Reform took place.

The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, and representatives of the Central Election Commission were also part of the table, to discuss the possibility of realizing the Diaspora vote, the review of the structure of the CEC and the depoliticization of the election administration.

After the meeting, Celibashi said that the parties are committed to realizing the vote of the Diaspora.

Regarding electronic voting, he said that it is almost impossible for electronic voting to take place in the entire territory of Albania.


"The parties are seriously engaged on this issue. There is interest and there is a will to find a solution regarding this issue. They wanted to know how those who want to exercise this right would be registered. The issue of the deadline has its own importance, but what I proposed is the CEC, which administers the requests of voters who want to vote outside the territory of Albania. I think that voting should be done either via the Internet or electronically by mail. Another option where the sending sheet can be sent electronically. This is a solution that is based on the interest of the political parties. To develop the voting in the entire territory of the country electronic, every day that passes I think it is almost impossible for electronic voting to take place in the entire territory of Albania.'- said Celibashi after the meeting.

We emphasize that the parties have given themselves a deadline of July 1 to have the agreed document ready in the form of a draft law to send to the Assembly for a vote./ CNA
