Through a video conference, the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, becomes part of the first meeting of MEPs of Mitsotakis' party, New Democracy in Greece

The Greek media reported the meeting, writing that Beleri, who has been in prison for 13 months, obtained a permit from the Albanian authorities and participated via a video conference.

"Beleri informed his colleagues about the upcoming hearing of his appeal, during which it will be decided, as he said, if he will be released immediately or if it will be necessary to wait a few more months", went Protothema.

Meanwhile, it is also reported that Beleri, during the meeting, expressed that he is looking forward to seeing his colleagues closely, to work together for the good of the country, as he strongly believes in the potential of this Eurogroup and the European People's Party.

The General Secretary of the EPP, Thanasis Bakolas, and the Vice President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, took part in the meeting./ CNA
