The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, accused the government of taxing freelancers.

For Berisha, this taxation is an act aimed at a mercy blow for our national being.

According to him, the government is imposing the taxation of free professions in an arbitrary and hostile manner.

"What is happening with the free professions is an act aimed at a mercy blow to our national being.

The free professions are several tens of thousands of boys, girls, men, women, people we must admit are talented, capable, who have decided to earn their living with the profession they have.

Who have decided not to depend on him, not to beg anyone for a job in the state, but to follow their work.

These professions, this layer constitutes the layer of cohesion of a society in any free country.

It was decided in the most arbitrary and hostile way towards the Albanians and towards them, to be taxed as much as in any other country in Europe.

And to be forced to either ban their services for citizens, that is, increase prices, or leave Albania.

With the experience they have, they should go to other countries and the citizens will be left without the services, which as a whole are vital services for every society, for every nation", declared the former prime minister./ CNA
