CNA has reported that Lulzim Basha is being abandoned by his deputies, after the Court of Appeal gave the stamp to the former prime minister Sali Berisha and recognized the latter as the chairman of the DP.

This was confirmed this evening by the head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi.

He said on Erla Mëhilli's show that he has held continuous talks with the deputies of Basha, who have expressed to him their interest in unification.

"Personally, I have it in my hand to gather the DP Parliamentary Group. The Presidency of the Party, as well as the National Council, must be convened to determine how to respect the contribution to the DP that has thought differently from us during these three years. Berisha has had a commendable and correct attitude, which shows his project for the unification of the DP.

I am talking about ordinary members who have more contribution to DP than many MPs. It should never happen that they lose this contribution. It is not their responsibility to come and feel comfortable in their home. For the MPs, I wouldn't call them negotiations, we have been talking continuously during this time, even before the decision of the Court of Appeal on the seal came out.

I have felt that there is a concern among each of these colleagues that we cannot go anywhere if we are divided. Each of them will have to speak for itself. Their position has been that we are for the union around the DP seal and logo. And now that this issue of the DP flag has been finally resolved, I see no reason not to come", stressed Bardhi./ CNA
