Pogradec has been following the tradition of puppet theater for 70 years

For more than 70 years, the lake town of Pogradec continues to fanatically preserve puppet shows for small audiences. Performances performed by a troupe of professional actors with handmade puppets.

The new season of shows for 2024 has already started in this city with the premiere of "Infidelity in the Forest of Goodness". Director Dhimitraq Tasellari's new season will have 3 premieres that will be staged.

"The season has just started in this premiere and it has aroused great interest in the small audience and this year we will stage 3 premieres," he said. 

Tasellari announces that preparations are being made for the next edition of the "Xinxifilo" Puppet Festival, which gathers troupes from all over the country.

"Soon in June, as is already known, the puppet festival "Xinxifilo" will take place and we will come with a new premiere. The festival will take place like every year with Albanian troupes from the country and the territories but also neighboring countries", he said.

In the last year, the hall of the Piro Xeci puppet theater in Pogradec has been reconstructed, taking on the appearance it deserves, while it is predicted that in 2024 alone, around 200 shows will be performed. /CNA
