The well-known writer Ismail Kadare has been nominated for the "International Booker Prize 2024" with his book "When rulers quarrel". There are 13 books competing for this prize.

Ismail Kadare's book is about the mystery of the Stalin-Pasternak phone call, one the leader of the Soviet Union and the other its most famous writer. This book includes the history of great writers who have survived dictatorships, while the dictators are dead and forgotten. The story of the Russian writer Boris Pasternak serves as the connecting thread of the work

Founded in the United Kingdom in 1969, the Booker Prize first awarded Commonwealth writers and now spans the globe: it is open to anyone, regardless of origin.

Each year, the Booker Prize is awarded to what is, in the opinion of our judges, the best sustained work of fiction written in English./ CNA
