Sudan recognizes the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo

The State of Sudan has today recognized the Independence of Kosovo. Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani announced this Saturday after meeting with the Foreign Minister of this state, following the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

She has published a video on the social network 'X' alongside Sudanese Foreign Minister, Ali Yousuf al-Sharif. Osmani says she received notification from Minister Yousuf that the Sudanese president has decided to recognize Kosovo and that the two countries will establish diplomatic relations.

"Thank you on behalf of the people of the Republic of Kosovo. This is the beginning of a wonderful partnership," Osmani wrote.

Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Youssef said he looks forward to deepening interstate relations and invited Osman to visit Sudan.

Sudan is a country in North Africa, with a population of about 50 million people and is the third largest country on this continent.  

The recognition from Sudan comes a few weeks after the recognition that was confirmed by Kenya. Kosovo is now recognized by 119 countries. /CNA
