Change approved in Kosovo/Electricity price increases by 16%

The Board of the Kosovo Energy Regulatory Office approved today the requests of three energy operators for maximum allowed revenues, increasing the price of electricity by 16%.

The ERO announcement states that the average tariff increase for all categories of consumers based on the maximum allowed income is around 16%.

As reported by the media in Kosovo, the maximum revenue for the Kosovo Electricity Supply Company is 435 million euros, despite their initial request being 447 million euros. Meanwhile, ERO has set the maximum revenue for the Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company for 2025 at 180 million euros, despite their request being 180 million euros. On the other hand, the maximum revenue for the System, Transmission and Market Operator has been set at 101 million euros.

The current price of electricity for consumers who consume up to 800 kilowatts within a month is 7.79 cents per kilowatt, while for those who consume over 800 kilowatts, the portion above this is calculated at a price of 14.45 cents.

From 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, the price per kilowatt is 3.34 cents for those who spend up to 800 kilowatts and 6.81 cents for those who spend more.

ERO conducts the annual review and establishment of new electricity tariffs, which are announced each year and are valid until March 31 of the following year. /CNA
