Tomorrow is the first supermoon of August

Tomorrow August 1st is the full moon and you should enjoy that beauty as it is a supermoon.

The Moon orbits the Earth in a slightly elliptical orbit, meaning that it is sometimes a little closer to the Earth and sometimes a little further away. A supermoon occurs when the full moon occurs near the Moon's closest orbital point to Earth.

On August 1, the Moon will be 222,158 miles (357,530 km) from Earth. It is the first supermoon of August and the second of four supermoons this year, which will appear, writes The Guardian. 

The first took place on July 2-3 and the full moon was 224,895 miles (361,934 km) away. 

The third and closest full moon will be on August 30 at a distance of 222,043 miles (357,344 km). Because it is the second full moon in the month, it is also called a blue moon. The last will be the September 28-29 full moon at 224,658 miles (361,552 km). Supermoons are typically about 14% larger in appearance than regular full moons and up to 30% brighter. 

However, most people will have a hard time noticing a difference.
