A 27-year-old woman was diagnosed with cancer after initially assuming her sore knee was caused by an injury, writes the dailymail.
Amy Haigh, from New Zealand, suffered the accident in March 2022, but was not checked until she noticed that her knee was swelling and in pain.
It wasn't until a personal trainer recommended she undergo a leg scan that the true cause of her pain was discovered.
A scan revealed she had osteosarcoma, a high-grade bone cancer.
Osteosarcoma, the most common type of primary bone cancer, usually develops in growing bones and often affects teenagers and young adults.
But it can happen at any age. In adults, it is more likely to be diagnosed over the age of 60.
Amy has since begun therapy and has learned to adjust to life with reduced mobility. She is currently not working until her leg heals./ CNA.al
