The KLSH report states that no physical or laboratory control is performed on the doses of cytostatic drugs produced.

The lack of these controls directly compromises the health safety of patients, increasing the risk, due to the very fact that cytostatic drugs are toxic in nature.

" The audit also found that no physical/chemical or laboratory control is carried out on the preparations of doses of cytostatic drugs produced in the sector, bringing increased risk that is directly related to the safety of patients' health, due to the toxic and critical nature of cytostatic drugs, these problems that highlight the shortcomings in the implementation by the holder of the obligations set out in Chapter 2 of the Financial Management and Control Manual for the approval of control activities, which guarantee to a reasonable extent that the risks identified during the risk management process have been reduced to an acceptable level ," the report states.

In the audit report, the Albanian Supreme Audit Office recommends the creation of an internal mechanism for controlling the quality of prepared doses. Control that would ensure a qualitative and standardized process for the benefit of patient therapy.
