The big clubs asked for a format change, it is revealed how Serie A will be

The assembly of Lega Serie A voted in favor of keeping the championship with 20 teams. Only four clubs (Inter, Juventus, Milan and Roma) expressed their opinion in favor of the new format with 18 teams, but with 16 votes in favor it was decided that the Italian football championship will remain with 20 teams.

Lega Serie A announced that it "approved today, during the Assembly held at its headquarters in via Rosellini, its policy document containing proposals for the reform of Italian football.

During the same meeting, the absolute necessity to preserve the right of agreement in the federal statute, as in the main systems of European football, was emphasized. In addition, the current format of the 20-team Serie A championship was confirmed."
