Dhimitri Çyfeku, for years an integral part of the structures of the Democratic Party of the Korça branch, is one of the candidates for the leadership of this branch. In an exclusive interview for CNA TV, the democratic candidate shows his journey for more than 30 years in politics, his intentions to turn the Democratic Party of Korça into a model party, with people with values ??and contributions, appreciating each of them. Dhimitri Çyfeku considers the birth of DP in December 1990 as his second birthday. In those years, he practiced his profession as a teacher in the Prespa area, but obviously, amid the excitement of the arrival of a new party, he hoped for a better future. His journey since 1990 has continued in total engagement in the party, with various leadership positions in group sections, as well as being a member of the presidency, as well as the vice president of the branch for the last 2 years.

"I have a second birthday with the birth of the Democratic Party since December 1990. I was fired to be a teacher in Prespa, in the village of Pustec. Absolutely, I was an inclusive part of the emotions of the arrival of a party that I had hoped for since years. Of course, I became part of the creation of the first sections of the PD in the area, but also in the villages where I was active. After that, everything is connected with the PD spent my whole life with PD, whether in position or opposition, even today here I am after 33 years again with PD, so much so that today I feel militant from the beginning."

With a little hesitation, but with a great determination to rebuild this structure, today he is officially a candidate for the head of the branch. In a difficult situation, he decided to run, with the aim of keeping the promise given since 1990, and to move forward.

"Actually, I hesitated at first, and when I decided, a friend of mine said to me: You have chosen difficult times for the wedding. I said to him: "No, the good helmsman is seen when the sea has waves, because otherwise the ship moves by itself." Of course PD a transition phase passed which also had consequences to some extent, but we passed it. We are alive and we will move forward for the sole reason of realizing the promise we made to the citizens since 1990. That's why I decided to be a part of this. new renaissance" of the DP but not like the renaissance which was reborn and never grew.

When we ask Çyfeku about the current situation in the Democratic Party of Korça, he says that there seems to be some kind of clash, lack of commitment and mistrust, and this is one of the main points of his electoral program, the change in the way the democrats are treated and evaluation of each of them based on political commitment.

"The situation in the PD of Korça seems to let you understand that there is some kind of conflict, some kind of lack of commitment, some kind of disobedience because in order to get where you need to be, you have to be real and of course this is because of that kind of situation that happened in DP, because of people who have not been treated fairly and equally for years, because of another fact that I will underline and I hope that if I am elected president, that the DP it's law, democracy and order, equal for everyone. After that, whoever has values, ambitions, to walk, to contribute, to take positions, and that's why I say that the situation in DP is not difficult to compose and for moving forward after we went through the most difficult period. Even more so when we see that we have a government in front of us that leaves a lot to be desired."

If Dhimitri Çyfeku is elected head of the PD Korçë branch, he will aim at the complete restructuring of the structure and preparation for the next elections in 2025.

"If I am elected absolutely the first thing is contact with all the democrats from the oldest, the opposition, the young, the pretenders to create a common body. Without equivocation, with a complete restructuring of the DP and of course the preparation for the elections of the year 2025 which will undoubtedly belong to DP."

The meetings with the democrats of the city and villages of Korça went quite well in these 2 days of the electoral campaign, where Çyfeku was welcomed and received opinions from all the democrats in the area.

"I've been in the campaign for two days, I'm having meetings mainly with the layers that are the base of the DP, with the opposition, with the militants. The reception is good, then the membership decides the end. But the meetings have been good and I've been welcome, I got support, it's a race, in the end I vote."

In the conversations with the democrats everywhere in the district of Korça, Çyfeku says that there have been discussions about the way people have been treated, highlighting this issue that has come to the fore in recent years. According to him, everyone should be evaluated equally and any initiative that even a simple member may have should be supported.

"In fact, the DP has had a problem over the years, the treatment of people, to some extent in particular moments, has been discreet. There have been theories that we should take people from civil society, from academic circles, people who are taking a look at it many of them have left the past to be desired. This has caused the establishment of PD, that is, the base, the resistance, the militants, to feel a kind of disappointment equal. You have to support everyone's initiatives because they are the basis, they bring you to victory."

The appeal of the democratic candidate for president of the DP Korçë to all members is to come and vote for the candidate, asking them to become a single body to win the upcoming elections.
