EU-Western Balkans summit/ Rama's message from Montenegro

Prime Minister Edi Rama participates today in the Summit of the Leaders of the Western Balkans and the European Union, which is held in Kotor, Montenegro, with a focus on the Growth Plan of the Western Balkans.

This regional meeting, which takes place under the logo "One region, common vision", follows the previous meetings of this level between the leaders, in Tirana and Skopje, where the plan aimed at the economic growth of the region, the acceleration of the reforms of appropriate, and making investments that can advance the EU enlargement process with BP countries.

"First of all I would like to say that I am quite disappointed that Montenegro did not manage to welcome us with sunshine, but welcomed us with German rain. However, for the rest everything is fine, we will have another session of this very inspiring and encouraging process that will open new paths for all EU countries to enable integration into the EU common market and boost trade while creating new opportunities for our citizens this year, let's make sure that bank transfers in the EU in our countries are much cheaper because we won't have the burden of the expenses they have, if it will be done it will be a very good thing", said Rama. 

The summit is conceived in two panels, namely: "Commitment and future plans", as well as "Contribution to the strengthening of regional cooperation", with the participation of the leaders of the region, as well as the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood, Oliver Varhelyi, and Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, James O'Brien.

Leaders and representatives of partner organizations such as the Regional Cooperation Council, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, senior representatives of the European Commission, etc. are present at the Summit./ CNA
