"It is an electoral crime"/ Kalaja: SPAK to open the ballot boxes of Durres from the May 11 elections

Former Democratic Party candidate for deputy for the Durrës Region, Aulon Kalaja, declared today that the lack of a recount of votes for candidates from the parliamentary elections constitutes an electoral crime.

In a statement to journalists, Kalaja said that the Special Prosecution Office must act, opening all the county's boxes.

After the May 11 elections, Kalaja requested a recount of votes, claiming that his votes had been trafficked within the party and he was unable to receive a mandate.

"According to the court, KAS has violated the law by approving a falsified summary table. In 341 other votes that were not counted, there were also my votes and those of other candidates. We are dealing with an electoral crime. SPAK should open all the boxes in Durres. I appealed the decision as you know. SPAK will investigate electoral fraud, based on my reports. This applies to every candidate who requests a recount of their vote. The article does not allow us to see the votes. It is my right that will be sanctioned for every candidate," said Kalaja./CNA
