European Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi

The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, has indicated the points on which the initial work will be based after the opening of the negotiations, in the meeting of the analytical review of the legislation.

Varhelyi said that the EU will help Albania and Macedonia, mentioning the daily problems, even those of the administration.

“Do doja të kapja këtë moment që të jepja një hyrje në kuadër të këtij procesi. Është një mundësi shumë e mirë për ju, që të bëjnë një vetëvlerësim të politikave dhe legjislacionit të tyre për të parë se sa afër janë me vendet e BE-së. Në bazë të takimeve bilaterale, do miratojmë raportin e shqyrtimit, për mënyrën se si do i bëjmë negociatat me ju.

Ne do të kemi një program dhe punë intensive duke filluar nga grupimet kryesore. Përfshirjen e një numri të madh ekspertësh nga administratat tuaja. Konteksti ynë do zgjerohet dhe intensifikohet, në mënyrë që administratat në Shqipëri të jenë të përgatitura për këto ushtrime. Ju siguroj, nga ana ime dhe shërbimet tona, ne do jemi krah jush. Procesi i shqyrtimit nuk është vetëm një ushtrim praktik për anëtarët e administratës publike, por ka të bëjë me legjislacionin.

It is a common understanding. All this will continue along the way. We will have investments in key parts and sectors. There will be new opportunities for businesses. Investment plans are the main pillars of our cooperation. The accession process should be seen as an ambitious reform program. This type of review will provide this. Today is the first step of becoming EU members.
