The head of the Parliamentary Group of the SP, Taulant Balla, has spoken about the EU integration process after the opening of negotiations between Albania and North Macedonia.

Balla said that the opening of negotiations is the conclusion of Albania's continuous efforts. He declared on the show "Top Talk" that Albania's EU membership process will not have the fate of Turkey.

"The truth is that today the countries of the Western Balkans have come closer and this is an important moment. We must understand that there is an awareness, not only in Albania.

Prej disa vitesh po kryhen reformat të tilla, të cilat duhet të ishin kryer në fakt sot 25 vite më para. Nuk e bëmë atëherë, po e bëjmë tani, por është konkluzion i përpjekjeve dhe sot jemi në një fazë të re.

Ne duhet të kosiderojmë që Ballkani Perëndimor do të jetë një mundësi reale investimesh, jo vetëm nga vendet e BE.

Qasja jonë do të jetë e përbashkët dhe besoj se BE, vendimarrësit e rëndësishëm europianë besojnë që procesi i Shqipërisë nuk do të ketë fatin e Turqisë”, u shpreh kreu i Grupit Parlamentar të PS-së.

Balla theksoi se Shqipëria dhe Maqedonia e Veriut Konferencën e Parë Ndërqeveritare duhet ta kishin mbajtur në vitin 2018 dhe jo sot.

"Albania and North Macedonia should have held this First Intergovernmental Conference in 2018. What we are talking about is that naturally, the reforms will continue. There is an issue that I must say, the reforms are not a homework assignment from the EU, they are well-functioning services", he underlined./ BA - CNA.al
