The chairperson of LSI, Monika Kryemadhi, has reacted to the start of membership talks between the EU, Albania and North Macedonia.

Through a status on social networks, Kryemadhi says that this is just the beginning of a new chapter, which charges politics and society with other duties and responsibilities.

She declares that the Albanian Government institutionally must be freed from the current corrupt, clientelistic practices, in violation of the law and suppression of the rights and freedoms of citizens.

“Mirënjohje ndaj çdo vendi të Bashkimit Europian, për këtë ditë të sotme të çeljes zyrtare të negociatave, që i hap rrugën procesit më të rëndësishëm për integrimin e Shqipërisë me të drejta të plota në familjen europiane.

Ky është vetëm fillimi i një kapitulli të ri, ndërsa detyrat për ta çuar përpara këtë rrugë, e ngarkojnë çdo aktor politik e shoqëror në vend, me përgjegjësi të reja për të realizuar transformimin rrënjësor e të gjithanshëm që Shqipëria europiane ka nevojë!

Njerëzit në karrige nuk e duan dhe do të bëjnë çmos për ta dështuar këtë rrugë, në favor të autokracisë së pushtetit të tyre. Qeveria shqiptare institucionalisht, duhet të çlirohet nga praktikat e deritanishme korruptive, klienteliste, në shkelje të ligjit dhe ndrydhje të të drejtave e lirive të qytetarëve.

LSI, as a parliamentary party and decisive force in the country, will dedicate its energies to advance the legal initiatives and institutional commitments that realize the full integration of Albania in the EU as soon as possible.

Too much time has been wasted in failures due to personal political decisions of the day. By delaying EU integration, we have lost our citizens who have emigrated to a better life in the EU.

It is time for Albania to become Europe in all standards. It's time for Albania to put the citizens and the European aspiration of the country's families and children in the focus of action!", writes the head of the LSI./ BA - CNA.al
