Letter - The Assembly revokes the mandate of MP Arben Ahmetaj

The Parliament of Albania has removed the mandate of the former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.

CNA has provided the letter, where the Assembly of Albania notifies the Central Election Commission about the creation of the vacancy.

Ahmetaj continued to be a deputy, but after 6 months of absence, the Constitution forces the termination of the mandate.

Thus, January 6 was the day when exactly 6 months passed since Ahmetaj's absence from the Assembly, which automatically resulted in the loss of the mandate.

According to the ranking of the SP candidates for Tirana District, the mandate of Ahmetaj will have to be taken by Dallándyshe Bici, who won 4977 votes from the preferential vote and was ranked 21st in the list of SP candidates for Tirana.

We remind you that Arben Ahmatej is accused of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets, related to the incinerator scandal. On July 20, SPAK issued an arrest warrant for him, while a few days later he was declared an international wanted./ CNA
