"Danger for the dissolution of the party"/ Former minister: Excessive

Former Interior Minister Dritan Demiraj spoke on television about the current situation of the Democratic Party. Demiraj said that the DP has been led by the same people for 33 years.

Asked about a possible departure of Berisha from the leadership of the DP, Demiraj said that at the moment it should not happen as it would lead to the dissolution of the party.

Further, the former Democratic minister stated that some people have an excessive ambition to be at the head of the Democratic Party.

 

" The Democratic Party has been led by Dr. Sali Berisha and his representatives for approximately 33 years. A large part of the representatives of the Albanian Parliament are people who should have retired. Now, if you were to tell me whether Dr. Berisha should leave or not, at the moment I say that he should not leave, for the sole reason that I see him as a risk for the dissolution of the Democratic Party and I am not here to advertise for anyone, but because I see an excessive ambition of about 10 people who claim to become leaders of the Democratic Party ," said Demiraj./CNA
