Ervin Salianji does not shy away from his public statements that are far from reality.

In a media appearance, Salianji stated that changes within the Democratic Party require large-scale organizations, even going so far as to claim that his meetings in the districts have been larger than those of the Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha. 

Salianji said that the DP should be an alternative party for governing the country, which will defeat Edi Rama, forgetting that he himself is one of the people who serve the prime minister.

"We are now going into a regression of different thinking. Up until this moment, I have not expressed an opinion and I have expressed some problems in the Democratic Party that no one opposes. So, no one deals with what I say, but they deal with "self-exclusion". We cannot go into regression. The effort of society is to move forward. The need of the Democrats, but also of society is to have a democratic party that is an alternative to govern and defeat Edi Rama, because the promise was: that it will defeat Edi Rama. If we as the Democratic Party and as the opposition have been criticizing for several months for the changes that Rama makes to the laws when they do not go in favor of the deputy prime minister, with the change of the code of procedure for lifting the suspension of the function of the minister, the prime minister, it is a typical case that changes the law when it does not care about the two standards and inequality before the law. So, if the Democratic Party does not create moral superiority and be different from the government, it will be difficult for it to win and this then creates a kind of usurpation of the Democratic Party that is done for personal, deeply personal interests. Someone for a political function or for a salary, someone else for something more apparently in this Albania and this is clear.
