"Forbes": Albania, among 6 small countries that support the war

Three Balkan countries and two Baltic states, along with the Czech Republic, are the only six countries out of NATO's 32 members to have issued public statements of support for the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, as President Donald Trump faces widespread resistance from the coalition to his request for assistance in the military operation.

So far, the only NATO members that have come out in support of the US-Israeli attacks on Iran are the Czech Republic, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.

Others, including Denmark, Finland and Luxembourg, have remained neutral in their opinions on the attacks, while issuing broad criticism of the Iranian regime.

These Six NATO Countries Have Expressed Support for US-Israeli Operations:

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama: “We support the United States in its military support of Israel today under the leadership of President Donald Trump,” he wrote in a post on X on February 28, the first day of the attacks, condemning Iran’s “cyber aggression” against Albania, which severed diplomatic ties with Iran in 2022 after a major cyberattack on the Albanian government.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani: Reposting Trump's initial speech on the February 28 attacks, Osmani wrote on X, "the hour of freedom has come for the people of Iran, thanks to the leadership of the United States and President @realDonaldTrump," adding, "we will continue to support the actions taken by the United States and other allies to end the Iranian regime and finally give freedom and peace a chance."

North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski: “We stand with our American allies in confronting destabilizing threats in the Middle East,” he wrote on X, adding, “The United States has made it clear that diplomacy is always the first option — but prevention remains essential when credible risks persist.”

Chief Foreign Policy Advisor to President Gitanas Naus?da of Lithuania : “ The US and Israel acted correctly” by attacking Iran after “Iran did not heed US demands to stop enriching uranium, to stop producing nuclear weapons,” he told Lithuanian National Television and Radio, calling it an “inevitable matter.”

Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics: “To a large extent, this operation is a consequence of what Iran has been doing for decades,” he said at a press conference on March 3, adding that he prefers diplomacy, but “diplomacy will have a place only at the moment when Iran abandons any plans to develop a military nuclear program... taking into account all these aspects, the operation currently being carried out by the United States and Israel is understandable.”

Czech Republic Prime Minister Andrej Babis: “Iran’s uncontrolled nuclear program and support for terrorism are a danger to us and to all of Europe,” he added in a post on X, “therefore, the Czech Republic stands by our allies and I believe that stability and peace will soon prevail in the region.”/ Forbes
