"The report, a ruthless radiography of governance"/ Berisha:

Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha, in a statement from the blue headquarters, once again cited the EC's progress report on Albania.

Berisha said that it is not said anywhere that Albania shines, but that corruption flourishes and the government uses institutions and elections are distorted.

"The European Commission report says that Albania's major problem is the way the government uses institutions for political and economic gain.

This report is an indictment of the current government, stating that the elections are distorted.

Although the EC is not a specialized commission for elections, it takes literally what good faith institutions write, and says that the elections were distorted.

It says that corruption is flourishing, that parliamentary control over governance has degraded, that the judicial system is collapsing, and that organized crime is extremely powerful.

It says that the media is completely controlled and attacked.

He says the administration is politicized and public funds are mismanaged.

They have taken a ruthless X-ray of Edi Rama's drug regime.

I know that someone may say, the ambassador talked about brilliance, others in the commission said the same thing, I guarantee you that in no line, in no word is the word brilliance used, the word extraordinary, none of these qualities exist in the European Commission's report.

All of which are passionate inventions of certain individuals who seek to misinform you, to hide the truths contained in the report.

This is the report."

Berisha commented on Ambassador Gonzato's statements today and said that they resemble the statements of former American ambassador Donald Lu.

"It doesn't say excellent progress anywhere. Not in a single line."

So don't listen to these statements as if they resemble the statements of Donald Lu, who said at the height of the country's cannabisization that he congratulated the police for their success in the extraordinary war against drugs.

Coming out and telling Albanians what the report doesn't say is not what Albanians expect.

The report says that democracy begins with elections, as is true.

"The elections are rigged and not free. The Commission emphasizes: lack of a level playing field," said Berisha./ CNA
