Draft Budget 2026/ Prosecutor Mara: SPAK and BKH, more capacities for criminal

Prosecutor Vladimir Mara was present today at the Committee on Legal Affairs and Public Administration, at the hearing for several institutions regarding the review of the draft law "On the 2026 Budget".

In his speech, Mara stated that the budget foreseen for next year aims to fulfill priority and strategic objectives, which essentially include the fight against corruption and strengthening the rule of law.

"The draft budget is divided into the budget for SPAK and BKH. It aims to fulfill priority and strategic objectives, such as increasing criminal investigation capacities, strengthening capacities for financial and property investigations and effective pursuit of confiscation of immovable and illegal assets, proactive approach in investigating the laundering of proceeds of crime, deepening international cooperation, strengthening transparency, accountability and sustainable technology. These aspects aim to fulfill SPAK's objectives for the fight against corruption in Albania. SPAK aims to contribute to strengthening the rule of law. The budget has undergone an increase, with a forecast of 336 million lek for salary expenses, expenses, transfers. The forecast for salaries amounts to about 1.6 billion lek, of which 621 million lek for SPAK and 1.4 billion for BKH", said Mara./CNA
