Draft Budget 2026/ Bylykbashi: The Ministry of Interior should not be satisfied

Democratic MP, Oerd Bylykbashi, said today that the Ministry of Justice, given the duties it carries out, should have a larger budget.

In his speech to the Legal Affairs Committee, Bylykbashi stated that this ministry should not be satisfied with these figures, as it needs to intervene in many sectors.

Bylykbashi added that the budget of the Ministry of Interior must be spent in full, so that the possibility of increasing the budget can also be discussed.

"You came and did your duty. You also said something interesting, that the institution should be seen beyond this. While there are many things under its control, the ministry is satisfied with a small budget. It also carries the flag of advancing a series of reforms. And the engines have not been turned on yet. This budget is not enough, especially to intervene in some sectors. And it is a fact. There are high costs also from the abuse of security measures. We have discussed it before. We have 60% of detainees and all this is a cost. We do not see anything in this budget that would indicate that there is reform. The fund is spent in percentages, but why is it not being spent in full? The fund should go 100%. So that we can discuss how to increase it. There are thousands of files that can also be handled by the probation service", - said Bylykbashi./CNA
