"For 9 months, the minimum wage insurance will be paid by the state"/

Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by MP Ogerta Manastirliu, presented the 2026 budget at a meeting with residents of Unit 5.

Rama said that the minimum wage from January 2026 will increase to 500 euros and the state will pay for insurance for 9 months.

The Prime Minister appealed to employees to denounce employers who do not pay their full salaries.

"Employers should take time to systematize the salary increase for the first 9 months of 2026. The government will pay the insurance of those whose salary is below 500 euros. From January 1, employers must directly give the employee 500 euros. The government will pay the insurance for 9 months.

The employer who does not pay you the full salary, either report it or chew it out, report it to the Tax Office, to the local MP or to the Minister of Finance. No one can fire you. It is our obligation to guarantee that 500 euros come to everyone's bank account, beyond the minimum wage, other salaries for all state employees will also increase.

"The increase in the minimum wage also brings wage increases for other categories in the private sector."

The Prime Minister promised that with the new budget, the problems of Police employees will end as seniority will be paid.

"Healthcare workers, teachers and police officers will benefit, their problems will end."
