Democrat Ilir Alimehmeti said today that the only solution to the situation in which the Municipality of Tirana finds itself regarding the arrested mayor is a political solution.

In a television appearance, Alimehmeti stated that for now, as long as the parties maintain their positions, citizens remain hostage.

"Tirana is addicted to the abusive games of the SP exponents. They, with the problems they have created themselves, have brought about this situation. Today, as long as the parties maintain their positions, the citizens remain hostage. The solution is political, there is no other way. The Prime Minister has also dismissed Veliaj from the post of head of the Association of Municipalities, showing that he has removed him politically. They were afraid of the result of Tirana and did everything to postpone it. Tirana is the leader for all municipalities", - said Alimehmeti. /CNA
