State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi held a press conference. Celibashi said that cases of inconsistency between the number of ballots counted and the total number of participants are being verified.

The head of the CEC said that 9 ballot boxes across the country have been declared invalid, 7 of which were declared invalid at the moment of delivery.

" There are 1 million 462 thousand 352 ballots found. We are verifying to see where the error is, is it the error of the VC members when they closed the voting or of the counters. The difference is only 109. 55 thousand 519 are invalid votes. If they are added up, it matches 100% with the number of votes found in the boxes. We have no contradiction. There are 9 irregular boxes, 7 of which were declared as such at the moment of delivery. 2 were considered such by the CEAZ after they resulted invalid after receiving the boxes ," said Celibashi.

The head of the CEC also spoke about the diaspora vote, saying that the counting of preferential votes for the Kukës region has begun. Referring to the discrepancy in data in some regions, where more envelopes were counted than delivered, Celibashi said that it is a momentary discrepancy related to the reports made by the system.

This data is subject to further verification, Celibashi said.

" The counting process has also begun for the candidates of the Kukës district. 159 thousand 921 valid votes. We are in the process of reviewing the B envelopes that came from the Greek state, I believe it will be completed today. The discrepancies at the moment are related to the reports that are made directly from the system. We are doing a second and third verification. There is electoral documentation that came from abroad that was not regular, mainly in the absence of the B envelope.
