"Launched at the end of April"/ Rama presents the new program in

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a conversation today with farmers in Krutje, Lushnja.

Also present at the meeting are the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, the Minister of Agriculture, Andis Salla, and the political leader of the Fier district, Belinda Balluku.

During his speech, Rama introduced a program that he said will be launched at the end of April to support farmers. The program, a collaboration between the government, the Bank of Albania and commercial banks, will work for farmers who bring a plan to double their business.  

"We have to agree with those who see agriculture as an opportunity to make a living, money is not our main issue. The main issue is what we need to do to secure the money we need to move forward in our enterprise. Only by joining together does everyone earn 30% more."

When it comes to the market together, it creates scale, price negotiation opportunities and creates sustainability. In the entire approach to financing and support, we will stimulate those who want to grow by joining forces. Yesterday we talked about oil. It is disgusting how, for the sake of a blind war, a whole kennel is engaged to take what we say out of context. Not all the beneficiaries were those who deserved it and used the oil for agricultural work. The land ownership sharing scheme was a scheme that had its own problems. Are those who speak blind and evil? They are interested in inciting aggression against the government.

We are communicating with you and through cameras to communicate to all farmers the new offer for agriculture. The new offer means not only 52 million euros for support schemes, not only reimbursement, not only the new program with the EU, but also the program that we will launch at the end of April together with the Bank of Albania and other second-tier banks.

"It tells entrepreneurs that you will double your business, bring the plan, the government will support it and the banks will provide up to 2 million euros. We have studied how it works and we have established the fact that in Albania there are small producers that can become big. Yesterday we were in Berat with olive oil producers who had joined together. They had united the process of collection, packaging, marketing and sales. They had created a measure for selling on the market," Rama said. /CNA
