The leader of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, has shared details from his meetings with American and European officials in a post on social networks. In his status, Mediu writes that the chairman of the Helsinki Committee, Joe Wilson, has said that the May 11 elections, which must be free and fair, will be closely followed.

Mediu also writes that in the meeting held with the team that will monitor the elections and the Secretary General of the Assembly, Roberto Montella, he asked that the mission be balanced.

 

 

" At the Vienna meeting of the OSCE PA. Congressman Joe Wilson, Chairman of the Helsinki Committee in the US Congress, said that we will closely follow the elections in Albania and that they must be free and fair. I also discussed the same concern with Congressman Marc Veasey and with the US representative in Vienna, an old friend of Albania, Janice Helwig.

The Speaker of the Austrian Parliament welcomed the annual meeting of the OSCE PA. We also held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Assembly Roberto Montella and the team that will observe the elections. On behalf of the opposition, I asked that the management of this mission be balanced as one of the main criteria of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which I also requested and presented to the President of the Assembly Pia Kuama, requesting a fact-finding mission before the elections on May 11 , ”writes Mediu.
